Imagine being unemployed and looking for work. Your savings have run
out and you have very little money for food and no transportation. Your
rent and utility bills are due and the apartment manager is threatening
eviction. Imagine the stress and anxiety of looking into your children’s
eyes and knowing they could be homeless.
What do you do? Where do you go? Who do you turn to?
There are families that you might know from work, church or your child's
school that cannot afford to pay their utilities, buy food, or provide
clothing for their children. There are those in our midst who are hungry,
cold, and lonely. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul helps these people
every single day.
Did you know…
- 398 families received a helping hand from our conference last year?
- 151 families received rental assistance?
- 73 families had their utility bills paid?
- 40 families received financial assistance for prescriptions and medical
care?
- 72 families who were displaced by hurricane Katrina received help to
start putting their lives back together?
- 200 sack lunches are handed out from our office every month to
needy individuals?
- 52 Thanksgiving dinners were distributed to families in need?
- 1026 Christmas gifts were distributed through the Magi Tree?
Mission:
Inspired by Gospel values, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul leads women

service to those who are needy and suffering. Our society serves all persons
